The Texada/Gillies Bay Airport (CYGB) is a community airport owned and operated by qathet Regional District and is a service paid for by the taxpayers of Texada Island (Electoral Area D). Our airport hosts a number of annual events including an aerospace camp and fly-in. The airport is also home to the Airbuzz Mk II flight simulator as well as the Texada Aviation Museum and Library. Visits to the Texada Aviation Museum and Library, and the AirBuzz Flight Simulator can be arranged by appointment during the week from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM from 1st of March until further notice. To schedule an appointment please call 604-223-2588 or email dgart@telus.net. Groups of up to 10 people can be accommodated for museum tours. Only two people per “flight” can be accommodated in the AirBuzz.
While we do not currently have an Airport Manager, you can contact the Manager of Assets and Capital Projects and our onsite caretaker Larry Newman to assist with inquiries regarding daily operation of the airport via email or phone. Click on the link below for Contact Information.
